We are a Christ-centered community outreach ministry committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through empowerment programs, discipleship and the distribution of food, clothes, and household items to those in need throughout Pitt County, NC. Our services seek to relieve burdens and empower families towards lasting heart and habit changes. We accomplish this by facilitating holistic programs that address root issues, rather than short-term fixes.
Another avenue of service is our Community Outlet, a “thrift like” store which provides another alternative to families to purchase their basic needs at a lower cost. Outside our four walls, we hold outreaches throughout the year in low income housing neighborhoods. These outreaches use recreation, healthy snacks and Bible study to reach at-risk youth.
In July of 2016 our ministry shifted our model of distributing food and clothing to the public by developing The Community Food Co-op Program which empowers financial freedom to participating families. The purpose of the program is to address specific root issues of food insecurity and unhealthy homes, including generational poverty, lack of sufficient funds, difficult access to healthy foods, lack of education in money management, and poor financial decisions. This innovative approach is providing healthy, accessible and affordable, fresh and non-perishable foods to families at a fraction of the cost, while mentoring them on how to redistribute the margin of money saved through their participation in the co-op program.
We are located on the corner of Arlington and Evans, right next door to McFadyen Music.
