Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a PT Packer in the Production Department. This position is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and material within or between departments according to the production schedule. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within a work area or around the plant.

Hours: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 12:00pm

Some of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities are:

• Inspects and removes defective products and packaging material. 
• Replenishes/distributes packaging supplies such as boxes, cartons, labels and name tags. 
• Moves finished products to pallets. 
• Assembles, lines, and pads boxes. 
• Performs duties in accordance with established ISO standards. 
• Receives oral instructions to determine work assignment, material, and equipment needs. 
• Loads and unloads items from conveyers. 
• Operates pallet jack to assist in loading or moving products and supplies.  
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner. 
• Stretches wraps boxes on pallets. 
• Cleans and maintains work area. 
• Empty cardboard bin; make sure pallet jack is moved back to the charger.  

• Medium work with lifting and/or moving objects up to 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10-20 lbs. constantly. 
• Ability to hear and speak. 
• Frequent standing/walking. 
• Good visual acuity including depth perception and peripheral vision. 
• Ability to reach, handle, finger. 
• Occasional stooping, crouching. 

• Primarily indoors  
• Work around moving machinery and equipment 
• Exposure to noise, dust
