Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has an opening for a FT Packer in the Production Department. This position is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and material within or between departments according to the production schedule. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within a work area or around the plant.

Hours: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm

Some of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities are:

Makes boxes and affixes pre-printed labels.
Examines and inspects containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
Cleans and maintains supplies and work area.
Places packaged batteries on conveyor belt to be sent to the shipping department.
Labels and packages different types of batteries.
Duties as assigned by Production Supervisor.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work with lifting and/or moving objects up to 10 lbs. occasionally and sitting most of the time.
Ability to reach, handle, finger
Repetitive use of hands/arms

Work Environment

Work around moving machinery and equipment
Exposure to noise, dust
