SUMMARY: The Senior Staff Accountant will provide expertise in financial operations and financial reporting functions for multiple legal entities. He or she will prepare financial reports, analysis, and general ledger account reconciliations.  Additional responsibilities include assisting in the design, development, and improvement of financial systems and controls and the development and documentation of financial processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Performs month/year-end close activities, including preparing, reviewing, and assessing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and allocations to ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded

  • Prepares account analysis to review monthly variances to ensure expenses are posted to correct accounts

  • Prepares monthly G/L account reconciliations and corrects issues as they arise  

  • Responsible for monthly sales, excise, and CAT tax filing, payments and new registrations 

  • Prepares all third-party commission calculations and payments weekly and/or monthly; reconciles liability at month end

  • Provides feedback to management concerning potential problems or areas of improvement and makes recommendations to implement improved processes

  • Provides relevant, accurate, and timely data and information that anticipates and exceeds internal and external customer needs 

  • Support fixed asset management

  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting as directed

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration from accredited university

  • 3-5 years of related accounting experience in a for-profit company (manufacturing preferred)

  • ERP experience (NetSuite preferred) 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills

  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel formulas and functions
