We are looking for an exceptional Clinical Procedure Data Coordinator to join our practice! 

Physicians East, PA is a multi-specialty, multi-campus group based out of Greenville, NC offering a wide range of specialties.  In addition to primary care the practice offers pulmonary and critical care medicine, rheumatology, dermatology, oncology, endocrinology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, gastroenterology, surgery, urology, and urgent care.  Our 102 providers and over 600 employees provide services for thousands of patients in a 29-county region.  Our specialists are on staff at ECU Health, a 900+ bed, level one trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine (ECU-BSOM).

Location & commitments

Full time role based at our Greenville Quadrangle Endoscopy Center location, Monday-Friday, 8a.m. – 5 p.m.

Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.

 

Supervision Received: Clinical Supervisor or Center Manager

 

Supervision Exercised: None.

 

Typical Physical Demands: Requires prolonged standing or sitting.  Requires frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.  Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.

About the role

This employee shall be responsible for obtaining/updating and managing patient health information by phone prior to the date of procedure.

 

Responsibilities

Makes telephone contact with all patients to confirm appointments for procedures, ensure they have prep instructions, and understand them, and answer questions they may have regarding their procedure.

 

Completes ProVation MCG pre-call note on all patients, which includes, but is not limited to documentation of:

  • Procedure to be performed.
  • Patient arrival time
  • Indication for procedure
  • Health history, including medical, surgical, and social.
  • Current list of medications
  • Allergies (meds, food, latex, etc.)
  • Answering patient questions

 

Gives instructions by phone regarding:

  • Center location
  • Appropriate clothing
  • Medications to be taken day of procedure.
  • Disposition of glasses, hearing aids, and jewelry
  • Transportation requirements
  • Bringing inhalers/medications
  • Driving
  • Pain expectations
  • Other instructions as necessary

 

Give special instructions by phone when appropriate regarding:

  • NSAIDS
  • FE Supplements
  • Aspirin
  • Warfarin (Coumadin)
  • Herbs
  • Diabetes medications
  • Blood thinners

 Performs other tasks as requested.

 

Candidate requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant

Experience required.

Typing/computer skills 

Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.

Ability to deal effectively with stress.
