SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR III
Salary Range: $68,289-$107,932
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide personnel and programmatic management to ensure that Adult Services and DHSR standards are adhered to and that the quality of work and provision of services are maintained to the highest degree possible. This position has the oversight and responsibility to ensure programmatic compliance with any monitoring, audits or reviews conducted by State personnel and/or fiscal auditors. This position coordinates all service referrals within the unit and to other areas in the Division. This position must be familiar with all funding sources such as Social Services Block Grant, Home and Community Care Block Grant, Adult Home Specialist Fund and Medicaid. Policy and operational strategy decisions are reviewed with the Program Manager for professional input, expertise and approval. Whenever changes in policy or procedure occur, it is the responsibility of this position to provide information, training and rationale in order to facilitate a smooth transition and expedited implementation within the Agency, Division and the community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources. Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies which govern social work programs. Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.
Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid North Carolina driver's license required. Bilinguals encouraged to apply. DD 214 is required from applicants claiming a military preference.
