Position Summary
The Donor Relations & Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in strengthening relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, and McDonald’s owner/operators. This position supports the organization’s fundraising and outreach goals through donor stewardship, community engagement activities, and event coordination. The ideal candidate is a relationship-builder who can share the RMHCENC mission with authenticity, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Relations
- Assist in the cultivation, acknowledgment, and stewardship of donors at all giving levels.
- Prepare timely and personalized thank-you letters, recognition materials, and impact reports.
- Maintain accurate donor records in the organization’s CRM database.
- Coordinate donor recognition efforts, including giving societies, plaques, and appreciation events.
- Accurate gift entry into the organization’s CRM database received through a variety of sources.
· Work with the Finance Manager to enter the weekly deposit for both the Moye House and Maynard Children’s Hospital Family Room
- Support the Director of Advancement in managing major donor touchpoints and follow-up.
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, civic groups, schools, and faith-based organizations to increase awareness and support for RMHC ENC.
- Serve as a key contact for McDonald’s owner/operators, coordinating in-store promotions, donation drives, and community events.
- Represent RMHC ENC at community events, check presentations, and speaking engagements.
- Coordinate volunteer involvement in fundraising and outreach activities.
Event Support
- Assist with planning and execution of special events, campaigns, and third-party fundraisers.
- Recruit, train, and support event volunteers.
- Help secure sponsorships, auction items, and in-kind donations for events.
- Manage event logistics such as guest registration, signage, and promotional materials.
Communications Support
- Collaborate with the RMHCENC team to create content for newsletters, social media, and donor communications.
- Implement a communications strategy that includes media relations, social media, and website content to advance the organization’s goals.
- Share stories and photos that illustrate the mission and impact of RMHCENC.
- Ensure brand consistency in all outreach materials.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, or related field preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in marketing/communications, fundraising, donor relations, community outreach, or related work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comfort with public speaking and representing the organization in the community.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database/CRM systems (experience with Salesforce preferred).
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
