Job Summary:

The Downtown Greenville Partnership is seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Marketing & Events to lead and elevate our marketing strategies and event management. This pivotal role requires a professional with a proven track record in marketing, event planning, and community engagement. The Director of Marketing & Events will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans, managing and promoting events that enhance the vibrancy of Downtown Greenville, and fostering strong relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

-Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote downtown Greenville as a premier destination for business, tourism, and community activities.
  • Lead the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, including digital, print, social media, and event-based marketing.
  •  Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to align marketing efforts with organizational goals and objectives.

-Brand Management:

  • Manage the Downtown Greenville brand, ensuring consistency and quality across all marketing materials and communications.
  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring all stakeholders adhere to brand standards.

-Community and Business Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with downtown businesses, community organizations, and local government to foster collaboration and support for marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for downtown businesses regarding marketing opportunities and promotional support.

-Digital Marketing and Content Creation:

  • Oversee the management and growth of digital marketing channels, including social media, website, email newsletters, and online advertising.
  • Create compelling content that engages target audiences and promotes downtown events, attractions, and businesses.

-Event Planning & Management:

  • Plan, organize, and execute the Downtown Greenville Partnership event calendar.
  • Coordinate logistics, vendor management, and volunteer recruitment for events.
  • Ensure all events are executed within budget and achieve desired attendance and engagement goals.

- Analytics and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives, using data to inform strategy and improve performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on marketing activities, results, and impact to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

-Event Administration:

  • Liaise with vendors, oversee logistics, and implement marketing strategies to ensure successful event execution.

- Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in marketing, with a strong background in digital marketing, brand management, and community engagement.
  •  0-3 years of experience in event management/production
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management, email marketing, and website analytics.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing ideas and strategies.
  • Passion for downtown revitalization and community development is highly desirable.
