SUMMARY
Aji (Ah-jee, which means taste in Japanese) was opened in April of 2023 to provide people with exceptional choices in candies, sweets, snacks, and pantry items worldwide.  The wine was an afterthought but quickly became relevant based on the location. Today, Aji is a retail and online shopping place for fun, unique, tasty treats, pantry items, and a wine bar.  The bar serves wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and other different and unique libations because most come from other countries.  The bar also serves as a lounge where people can enjoy wine and connect and be social.  Aji also provides live music experiences.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of items in the store and wine and drink knowledge to provide customers with exceptional customer service
• Cashiering responsibilities
• Merchandising strength- Aji moves thousands of items each month, so it is important to understand how to group items logically as items run out and get replaced, as well as awareness of expiry dates and customer perception, for example, empty or crowded spaces, or missing price tags
• Inventory management- As products leave the store, they are replenished.  Replenishing inventory is a large part of the job, and for new items, this involves inputting all the necessary information into the inventory management system so it can be seen online and sold in-store
• Pick and Pack online orders- Aji currently delivers about 50 weekly packages from online purchases.  The packages must be neatly packed with consideration to fragile items, icing items during warmer months, and finished with a pretty presentation that represents Aji
• Bartending—The wine bar makes up a quarter of Aji’s overall sales, and it is growing. It is important to understand at least the basics of wine and continue to grow knowledgeable about wine and its selection to help customers make excellent choices of what to drink here or take home. Of course, exceptional people skills are mandatory.
• Housekeeping- breaking down boxes, throwing away trash, and cleaning the store, including bathrooms and stockroom, is essential
• Aji can be extremely fast-paced, and the ideal candidate would be able to move quickly and efficiently during peak times, as well as be self motivated when times are slower to find and complete tasks that benefit the store and employees
