Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc. has a PART-TIME opening for a Marketing Assistant in our Marketing Department. This position is responsible for supporting ECVC’s marketing and communications efforts through execution, reporting, analytics, and optimization of approved marketing initiatives. The Marketing Assistant (Intern) works closely with the Marketing Manager to implement email marketing, social media, paid advertising, internal communications, and reporting, while staying current on trends and identifying opportunities to increase awareness, engagement, and growth across ECVC divisions.     
Hours:
Mon – Fri; 20 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to develop comprehensive marketing plans, including campaign goals, messaging themes, and content calendars.
  • Assist with execution of approved email and social media campaigns by drafting content, scheduling posts, and preparing creative assets.
  • Ensure all marketing content aligns with ECVC branding, messaging, and mission.
  • Write clear, professional content with correct spelling and grammar.
  • Capture photos and videos and assist with editing, graphics, and video creation.
  • Draft updates for ECVC’s websites (ECVCinc.com & shopECVC.com) and offer suggestions for content/design improvement.
  • Assist with setup and marketing support for trade shows, community events, Chamber activities, and Annual Banquet.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly marketing reports with summary analysis, insights, and recommendations.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and areas of improvement based on collected data.
  • Keep ongoing Marketing Log updated with marketing/PR activities for reference by leadership.

  • Optimize ECVC’s Google Ads Nonprofit Grant campaign – create ads to expand our reach.
  • Marketing support for job placement, including Recruiting events.
  • Data mining – trends, opportunities in job placement, other lines of business.
  • Base store marketing/branding efforts – ECVC brand placement.
  • Maintain and track ECVC’s marketing merchandise.
  • Develop/assist with marketing ideas for ECVC’s Frame Shop.
  • Serve as backup for the ECVC Frame Shop during peak periods or staff absences.
  • Assist with ECVC products sales analysis/reports/research.
Other
  • Support marketing initiatives related to job placement, inclusive employment messaging, and new lines of business.
  • Assist with research and data gathering to support marketing and business development efforts.
  • Perform other marketing or administrative duties as assigned.

  • Idea Projects – Must be able to take the lead on ideas, ask questions and develop/create plan, share/communicate proposed plan/thoughts with Director of Customer Operations, and tweak project/implement per supervisor’s feedback for final plan & required outcome.
  • Business/Technical Writing – Must have a high level of correct spelling & grammar, as well as emphasis on ability to write in business/technical style.
  • Computer Literacy – Strong computer skills which includes MS Office and Teams, Social Media, Web Design/Editing, Videography, Graphic Design, etc. 
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Calculation of percentages, ratios, or averages. Identification and application of a wide range of mathematical or statistical concepts.
  • Record Keeping – Enter, check, and verify data; copy and file records; track/collect data; well-organized and high level of documentation skills.
Physical Demands
  • Sedentary work with lifting and/or moving objects up to 10 lbs. occasionally, sitting most of the time.
  • Ability to hear and speak.
  • Repetitive use of hands/arms.
 
Work Environment
  • Constant computer work.
  • 20 hours per week.
  • On-Site at 2100 N. Greene Street, Greenville, NC 27834.
  • Weekly Schedule/Planning Meetings with the Marketing Manager.
 
Education and Experience
  • Preferred qualifications include a college degree (in progress or completed) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field; or a high school diploma/GEP with at least two years of relevant experience in one of these areas.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
  • Experience with tools such as Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, and other tools in Google Suite.
