This internship provides a valuable opportunity for a college student to gain hands-on experience in sales, marketing, customer outreach, and business development in a fast-paced local company.

Position Summary
PIRTEK Pitt County is seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and self-motivated student for a Summer Marketing & Sales Internship. The selected candidate will support community outreach, relationship-building with local businesses, and digital content creation while learning how sales and marketing contribute to the growth of a service-based business.

Primary Responsibilities

• Visit local businesses to introduce PIRTEK Pitt County and support business development efforts.
• Build relationships with prospective customers in industries such as construction, transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, and other commercial sectors.
• Communicate company services clearly and professionally to potential clients.
• Contribute ideas for outreach campaigns, promotional efforts, and brand visibility in the local market.

• Support field-based marketing initiatives by capturing photos and videos of team activities, service work, and appropriate customer interactions.
• Assist with creating, organizing, and maintaining content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
• Pursuing or interested in marketing, sales, business, communications, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking with new people and representing the company in a professional manner.
• Organized, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Interest in content creation, social media, and relationship-based selling.
• Experience with Canva or similar design and scheduling tools is preferred, but not required.

• Business-to-business relationship-building.
• Outside sales exposure and customer communication.
• Social media content development and brand marketing.
• Professional communication, time management, and initiative.
• Small business operations and local market outreach.

• This is an active, hands-on internship and is not limited to desk work.
• Students will have the opportunity to observe real business operations and contribute directly to outreach and marketing efforts.
• Strong performance may lead to an opportunity for continued work beyond the summer term.
