Job Description
Job Title:           Shift Leader
Department:      Plant Management                 
Reports to:        Raheen Norman- Associate Director, Manufacturing                     
 
Purpose/Scope:
 
The Shift Leader is responsible for supervising the overall operation of the facility, acting as facility leader out of hours.   They will ensure that the company work systems, standards and behaviors are sustained to deliver and exceed site safety, quality, productivity, and service KPI’s through the effective leadership and engagement of their team and coordination of available resources.  They will be accountable to lead responses to crisis management events. And crisis management response.
They will work closely with the platform leaders to develop teams’ capability and performance.
 
Principle Accountabilities/Key Duties:

  • Site wide ownership of facility on shift, ensuring compliance with
    • Site safety polices,
    • Quality polices and GMP
    • Works systems (5S, PM, CL, etc.)
  • Leadership of their team
    • Effective cascading of communication and directions
    • Talent development and coaching
    • Time approval and coverage planning
    • Input/ support for platform managers on feedback for PMP’s and progression
    • Resource allocation based on short term needs (flow to the work)
  • Implementation and supervision of best practices for team performance 
  • Responsible for crisis management response.
  • Owns escalation process to bring to bear support resources to deliver site objectives
    • Leverages line prioritization to make priority calls for resource allocation
    • Assures urgency in response
    • Assures Temporary labor resource aligned to site priorities working with agency leadership.
  • Reporting
  • Other duties as assigned.  CI projects: best practices, talent development, organizational efficiencies.
 
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Minimum 2year associate’s degree in business related field or 2 or greater years successful lead operator (MT3) or technical position.
  • Excellent integrity, communication, and organizational and leadership skills. Personal energy and desire to learn and develop.
  • Work effectively with all levels of the business
  • Possesses skills to coach and develop all levels of the department to achieve goals
  • Maintain a team-oriented working environment that allows for individual differences and provides for individual growth
  • Ability to identify urgent or emerging problems, develop alternative corrective actions and engage appropriate colleagues in the timely implementation of corrective actions
  • Strong analytical & good mathematical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
 
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in high-speed processes.
  • Hands on mechanical experience.
