Job Summary: The Hardware Design Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of electronic hardware and mechanical components for gaming systems, including the design and development of gaming cabinets, cash kiosks, dot matrix displays, and the selection and integration of other essential peripherals like monitors, bill acceptors, printers, and SMIBs. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in electronic hardware design, hands-on experience with product manufacturing, and the ability to collaborate closely with manufacturing partners to bring innovative gaming products to market.
Key Responsibilities:
1). Hardware and Mechanical Design:
- Design and develop hardware for gaming systems, including gaming cabinets, cash kiosks, dot matrix displays, and other related peripherals.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers to design gaming cabinets and other mechanical components that seamlessly integrate with electronic hardware.
- Select and evaluate components such as monitors, bill acceptors, printers, SMIBs, and other peripherals based on performance, cost, and reliability.
2.) Manufacturing Collaboration:
- Partner with manufacturing teams and external vendors to develop and refine designs for production, ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
- Lead the design and engineering of gaming cabinets and kiosks, working with manufacturing partners to optimize materials, processes, and assembly methods.
- Participate in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews and work to minimize production costs while maintaining product quality.
3.) Prototyping and Testing:
- Develop and test prototypes of hardware and mechanical designs, iterating based on testing outcomes and feedback.
- Conduct rigorous testing, including thermal, EMI/EMC, and environmental stress tests, to validate the reliability and performance of hardware and integrated systems.
- Work with QA and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware and peripheral integration during assembly and testing phases.
4.) Product Integration:
- Ensure smooth integration of hardware with software systems and mechanical components, coordinating with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.
- Assist in the development of firmware and software drivers as necessary to support hardware functionality.
- Provide technical support to production teams during the assembly and testing of hardware components.
5.) Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay updated on the latest technologies, materials, and industry trends to continuously improve the design and functionality of gaming products.
- Drive innovation in product design, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve user experience.
6.) Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all hardware and mechanical designs comply with regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and gaming industry-specific standards.
- Manage relationships with external testing agencies to obtain necessary certifications for gaming products.

Project Management:
- Manage design projects from concept through production, including project planning, resource allocation, and timeline management.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and challenges to stakeholders, providing regular updates and maintaining detailed project documentation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of components, materials, and final products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in electronic hardware and mechanical design, with a focus on gaming systems or similar industries.
- Proficiency in PCB design software (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, or OrCAD) and CAD software for mechanical design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of circuit design, including analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, as well as mechanical design principles.
- Experience in working with manufacturing partners, particularly in the design and production of gaming cabinets, kiosks, or similar products.
- Knowledge of component selection and testing for peripherals such as monitors, bill acceptors, printers, and SMIBs.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., CE, UL, FCC).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
