IMPACT CARD OVERVIEW
Higher ed is in its toughest economic stretch in a long time. ECU is cutting $25M from its budget and just discontinued 44 academic programs. UNC Greensboro and UNC Asheville are cutting entire departments to survive.
In January we launched Impact Card (myimpactcard.com), a fintech platform built to give back to campus in a material way. We partnered with ECU on a co-branded credit card launching later this year. This is not an affinity card. ECU participates directly in the economics, with a portion of every swipe going back to the university, worth more than a million dollars a year. In turn, ECU helps us grow the cardholder base across alumni, donors, fans, parents and students. We're now finalizing agreements with other schools around the country.
What this means for a local business:
We're building out the Greenville merchant network now. Most local businesses already do promotional work through coupon books and local advertising. This is similar but far more targeted, and it's based on rewards rather than ads. You set the offer, cardholders earn more when they spend with you, and you get in front of a loyal Pirate audience already choosing to spend with purpose.
Our mission: an economically interconnected community for every college town. An alum spends with a merchant, earns rewards, and the university earns revenue. Everyone wins, the town rises together.
