The Greenville Museum of Art (GMoA) invites you to a vibrant and heartfelt celebration of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, on Friday, November 1st, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. This free admission event, co-hosted by Casa Azul de Wilson and AMEXCAN, promises an evening filled with rich cultural experiences and joyful remembrance.
Celebrate the spirit of Día de los Muertos! Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Mexican culture with captivating performances and exhibitions. Witness the mesmerizing power of the Danza Azteca dance group, a living tradition honoring the pre-Columbian Aztecs. Be serenaded by the soulful melodies of Lucino Sánchez and experience the grandeur of Mariachi Monumental. Explore a captivating array of altar displays, each a tribute to loved ones. Savor refreshments and discover the diverse works in our current exhibition, "The Home I Never Knew: Ni de Aquí, Ni de Allá,” which closes that evening.
Día de los Muertos is a joyous occasion to honor and celebrate the lives of those no longer with us. We invite all community members to contribute to our altar by bringing photos or small mementos in memory of your loved ones. These cherished items can be left at the museum through November 2nd.
Join us for an unforgettable evening filled with music, dance, art, and community spirit!
