Since 1984, our company has taken pride in quality fabrication, detailing and engineering to provide our clients with the best services available. Our comprehensive and versatile portfolio has been built upon the dedication and expertise of our employees.

Quality Steel Since 1984

In 1984, Thomas F. Trevathan, PE realized the need for quality fabricated steel products. This realization was the beginning of North State Steel, Inc. Starting out in Greenville, North Carolina with only a half-dozen employees and a 5,000 sq ft shop, North State Steel earned a reputation for dedicated service – quality products at a fair price, delivered on time. Of the original half-dozen employees, five remain with the company today. This experience and knowledge has helped North State Steel strengthen to almost 50 employees. In order to support the growth, the current office has expanded and now includes a 16,000 sq ft shop. In 1994, a second location was opened in Louisburg, North Carolina containing a 12,000 sq ft shop. Since beginning, the company’s success has enabled them to expand in every aspect of the business. This evolution has taken North State Steel from jobs consisting of only a couple of tons, to larger projects containing a couple thousand tons. North State Steel, Inc. continues to be a certified fabricator by the American Institute of Steel Construction as a Standard for Building Construction.
