Location & commitments 

FT/PT/Temp/PRN role based at our Greenville (other) location, Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. 

Overtime may be required to ensure tasks are completed.  Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary. 

 

Supervision Received: Reports to Security Coordinator. 

 

Supervision Exercised: None. 

 

Typical Physical Demands: Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly. Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

 About the role 

The Security Specialist will protect people and property from questionable activity. 

 

Responsibilities 

Assist with patrol of grounds for safety and security of staff, patients, and guests of the facility. 

· Respond and participate in the following codes: blue, pink, gray, silver, red and black. 

· Assist in irate person situations, patients or staff. 

· Assist emergency service personnel as situations occur. 

· Assist with training and educating staff at all locations on security topics. 

· Assist with bi-annual security and safety assessments of all locations. 

· Escort batching staff as money is transferred between departments. 

· Assist with investigations and prepare reports on incidents or any form of suspicious activity that takes/took place. 

· Review video footage as needed from security cameras. 

· Aid both employees and visitors of the facilities in a friendly and polite manner. 

 

Candidate requirements 

Ability to communicate (possess effective communication skills) effectively at all times. 

· Must be an individual that has an eye for little details. Must be always observant. 

· Must have good interpersonal skills, i.e., he/she must be a people person. 

· Must be proactive in nature. He/she must be someone that acts fast whenever necessary. 

· Must be able to work effectively as part of a team or lead a team if necessary. 

· Must be patient friendly. 

· Must have the ability to evaluate and assess any given situation properly. In other words, he/she must possess good analytical skills. 

· Must also be good at decision-making. 

· At least five years of verifiable experience in a similar role or law enforcement. 

· Evidence of applicable training(s) relevant to position.
